Lunch (late) in Waimate with people who M & U had 'house sat' last year. Yummy broccoli soup with home made savory scones.
Camped next to river outside Omarama, with a field full of bellowing steers! Hope they quieten down when its fully dark.
Good days riding 1st inland parallel to the coast and alps. Good views of the alps and fresh (1st of the season) snow. Cold riding past Mt Hutt, only the left hand grip heater of my bike is working! Forecast is for a wet couple of days. We will try and dodge the worst of it before further heading south.
Slept well last night, a good solid 8 hours. Tonight may be different, sleeping on the ground next to field full of bellowing bullocks! Time to get the earplugs out!
